Puerto Vallarta Lifestyles – Old Town

Puerto Vallarta Lifestyles - Old Town

Enjoying a Puerto Vallarta lifestyle is one of the main attractions of purchasing real estate at Garza Blanca Preserve on the south shore of Banderas Bay. Voted one of the top places to live, Puerto Vallarta is a prime location for retirees, snowbirds and people who work remotely looking for a high quality of life. Garza Blanca real estate is ideally situated just a 10-minute drive from Puerto Vallarta’s Old Town, which is an up and coming area with plenty of recent investment into the neighborhood’s infrastructure, restaurants, spas and stores. Find out below why living close to Puerto Vallarta’s Old Town may be attractive for you and yours.

Charming cobblestone streets

One of the best things about Puerto Vallarta, in our opinion, is an area south of El Centro which is known as Old Town, or Zona Romantica. As well as having access to the most popular beach in the area (albeit very busy), it still has that authentic small town feel that you won’t find in many Mexican vacation hotspots now. As you walk the cobbled streets you will pass charming shops, bakeries, boutiques, and there is even a farmers market on Sunday mornings!

Old Town Farmers Market

The market is diverse and lively; you can find everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to artisan crafts and beauty products here! In fact, you can even get a chiropractic adjustment and some fresh tacos or ceviches!

Puerto Vallarta Lifestyles - Farmers Markets From October to May (high season) Puerto Vallarta is proud to host Vallarta South Shore’s Old Town Farmer’s Market each Saturday from 9am until 2pm. As a new resident you will no doubt find the farmers market surprising and enchanting; you can find fabulous street food, art, clothing, jewelry, baked goods, jams, and other trinkets and gifts. Make sure you bring your shopping bag, your family, and your pet for a great day out. The Old Town market is found at Lazaro Cardenas Park (adjacent to Los Muertos Beach). There is also a market in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle which runs during high season, and offers amazing shopping opportunities, succulent street food, and even live music on Sundays, and a Thursday night market in Marina Vallarta!

Plenty of attractions

Puerto Vallarta’s Old Town isn’t just a quaint day-time haunt; there are local clubs, bars, and lounges which suit most tastes in Old Town and Olas Atlas, as well as in nearby El Centro. If you relocate to Garza Blanca Preserve, you will have this lively place on your doorstep but not so close that the nightlife keeps you awake. In fact, a quiet, heavenly night’s sleep is what you are guaranteed when you become a resident at Garza Blanca Preserve.

Puerto Vallarta’s Culture and architecture

There’s also the stunning architecture of Old Town, and the many art galleries which dot the city as a whole! Puerto Vallarta offers a cultured lifestyle to its residents. You can never be sure what interesting hidden jewel, restaurant or store you might chance upon as you walk the streets. Have you seen, for example, the local church “Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe”? Found by the Plaza de Armas, it has a beautiful crown which was added in 1965; it’s worth a visit! Or, there is also the Los Arcos Amphitheatre right on the Malecon, which can be found just steps from the church and plaza.

Unique mix of old and new on Banderas Bay

Old Town Puerto Vallarta offers something to its residents and vistors that other cities in Mexico simply do not; a stunning mix of old and new, culture and excitement, high-end and boho chic, and it all combines into the kind of laid-back lifestyle that cannot be replicated anywhere else. Where else could you experience world-class dining and see coconut and oyster vendors walking along the coast with fresh wares each and every day.

Puerto Vallarta offers a lifestyle like no other, and has an intrigue that is hard to describe. Nonetheless, you cannot help but appreciate the beauty, diversity, and warmth of this charming city.
