Las Animas

The nearest of the three beauty-spots is the family friendly Las Animas beach. If you want to enjoy a near-virgin beach, head further south to the beautiful Quimixto town. This beach is unspoiled with fewer touristic facilities. You will need to take a beach towel and a picnic as there only limited services here, which is part of its charm and appeal. It boasts of natural wonders brought by the sea and the nearby mountains. Great winds are suitable for water sports like surfing and windsurfing, and you will see many locals come here to enjoy these unique conditions. It also features a beautiful waterfall which you can reach by following a tropical trail either by foot or on horseback. Arrive to Quimixto by water taxi or private yacht.

Yelapa is considered is one of the most beautiful locations on the south shore for a visit. This quaint fishing town retains its old-world Mexican charm, having only recently been connected to the grid to enjoy modern electrical comforts.
