Best Sushi in PV

Luxury and Comfort

Without a doubt, Mexican food is some of the best in the world. Tacos, enchiladas, ceviche, gorditas, and salsa, salsa, salsa! What’s not to love? However, if you find yourself in Puerto Vallarta and are in the mood for sushi, you won’t be disappointed. Puerto Vallarta is home to many great sushi joints, and most are reasonably priced so you can enjoy your sushi fix without breaking the bank. Here are the top 5 Sushi Restaurants in PV to try:

Kensao

Located in the Galerias shopping mall, Kensao is one of the best options in town for tasty and fresh sushi. With an extensive menu and weekly specials, Kensao has many specialty rolls that are worth a taste. Some of the most popular rolls include the tomato roll which is fresh tuna wrapped around rice and a scallop salad topped with spicy Sriracha sauce and fresh green scallions. Have someone with you who isn’t too keen on raw rish? Recommend the Gohan Special which is a mixed rice dish topped with crunchy shrimp tempura and avocado chunks.

Ooki Sushi

Located in the ONE hotel and office complex building in between the airport and the marina, Ooki Sushi is a newer establishment that focuses on fresh Japanese dishes with a Mexican flare at a great price. The small restaurant is decorated in a minimalist style, and is clean and tidy. Their menu has some unique rolls and if it’s available, their fatty tuna nigiri is to die for.  You are treated to a crab and rice wonton appetizer upon arrival that will have your mouth watering for more. Try the tuna roll with serrano peppers that is drizzled with sesame seed oil for a delightful mix of spicy and soft flavors.

Tsunami Sushi

Located in the booming residential neighborhood of Fluvial, Tsunami Sushi is a long time PV favorite that used to be located downtown. With attention to detail, and excellent service, Tsunami is an ideal spot for a sushi lunch or dinner. Make sure to get a tall Sapporo or Asahi Japanese beer to wash down your delicious sushi meal. With numerous specialty rolls and sashimi options, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Best part is it’s a nice escape from the PV heat so you can enjoy your meal in a cool, air conditioned restaurant.
