Puerto Vallarta Opens 1st Center for Respiratory Diseases

While current statistics have shown that Mexico is not as affected as bad as other parts of the world, there is no concrete way to guarantee the spread of the virus. By working together, we can reduce cases to flatten the curve and keep our loved ones safe. In addition, PV has opened the 1st Center for Respiratory Disease. The center will provide a safe place to take care of sick people with respiratory diseases, especially those caused by the COVID-19 and coronavirus epidemic. The PV Center for Respiratory Diseases is equipped with advanced technology. It has several mechanical ventilators for intensive care, too. Top doctors and medical specialists in Banderas Bay will be available to attend to patients in need.

Fast Response by Local Doctors

The Center for Respiratory Diseases is open thanks to local Doctor Armando Joya. The CEO of Grupo Médico Joya, Dr. Joya is available for consultations at San Javier Hospital in Puerto Vallarta and San Javier in Nuevo Vallarta, as well.  Likewise, Grupo Médico Joya works diligently with SANMARÉ Health-Care Group since they opened in 2019. The Center for Respiratory Disease is an important international and local milestone. The facility has modern facilities and isolated rooms for intensive care to meet potential needs of the local community. Construction began on March 24th, 2020 and in 2 weeks the center opened their doors on April 6th, 2020.  The center can offer top medical attention for up to 18 patients at one time.

Tips to Stay Safe

The coronavirus and COVID-19 epidemic are affecting people all across the world. In Puerto Vallarta, many businesses, schools, restaurants, and hotels have been shut down. These precautions aim to slow the transmission of the virus. In addition, local beaches and the malecon boardwalk are closed. Likewise, tourists should stay at home and not travel to Puerto Vallarta right now. Also, cars coming into Puerto Vallarta will be turned back unless they are local residents. While it is impossible to completely protect yourself from risk, safety and hygiene practices will help. Make sure to always wash your hands, avoid sick people, and only leave home for essential needs. Try to order online and support local businesses remotely.  Remind children and keep those around you safe. Also, if you go outside to exercise, always keep a safe distance at least 2 meters from the next person.

Hopefully, life as we know it will resume a sense of normalcy in the near future. Let’s all work together to get through this unprecedented time. Remember, the 1st Center for Respiratory Diseases is now open in Puerto Vallarta. By taking the property safety precautions, we can lessen the illness curve and keep our local community safe.
