Last week our very own real estate agent and sales director of Signature Residences at Garza Blanca, Puerto Vallarta, Nicole Martin, went on one of her regular visits to the local realtors to promote the fabulous inventory at the luxury gated community on the South Shore. This time, she visited Tropicasa Realty where she had chance to present a fun pop quiz that tested their knowledge about the great things happening on the South Shore and at Garza Blanca.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Nicole was able to ask Tropicasa agent, Grace Ramirez, to describe a day in the life of a real estate agent in Puerto Vallarta. A day in the life of a realtor in Puerto Vallarta is a tough one; agents must be familiar with inventory from all over Banderas bay and spend a lot of time behind the wheel with clients in search of finding their dream home. My Daily \u201cRoutine\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Grace<\/a>As a real estate professional who has been working in this industry in Puerto Vallarta since 1999, I have come to recognize that my \u201croutine\u201d is nothing like most people\u2019s daily 9-5 (or in provincial Mexico 10-2 and 4-8). However, there is one thing for certain in my daily routine, which is that I walk my three dogs at least twice a day. Apart from that, anything can happen!<\/em><\/p>\n

The beginning of my working day usually starts with a phone call, and in this business, that is usually between 9am and 10 am. I often sound like I have just rolled out of bed when I answer but in fact, I might be still in bed working, answering emails. This is often because I closed my eyes around 3 or 4 am the night before.<\/em><\/p>\n

My physical day starts at around 10am and goes on until at least 2 am if I am trying to catch up with everything (lol); I just keep going until I finish that last email (who am I kidding?). My morning dog walk is between 2 and 5 km, depending on how early I get to start. I generally do showings around 11:30, and tend to have an average of 1 to 3 showings a day. The properties can be located anywhere from La Joya de Mismaloya to Higuera Blanca in Nayarit.<\/em><\/p>\n

Meetings and appointments fill up my time in between, as well as prospecting for new listings. New listings take almost as long to get up and running as a closing does from the time you get an offer. When you sell Real Estate you become multifaceted. The term multitasking reaches levels that are usually not understood by many. Between having to file your taxes monthly (even though you have an accountant) showing properties, taking clients to see multiple properties on any given day, closings, writing offers, fulfilling office floor times, attending weekly office meetings, monthly AMPI meetings, attending and organizing Open Houses, fulfilling the education requirements for AMPI as well as my personal education requirements, the 200 phone calls it statistically takes to actually make a sale, there really is nothing \u201croutine\u201d about our daily routines.<\/em><\/p>\n

Oh, and that isn\u2019t including making time for your family, if you have one. They become independent very quickly. And personal time? That gets integrated into walking the dogs, a pit stop at Starbuck’s or Dee’s downtown, quick lunches, some televised sports events at local watering holes and the occasional dinners with friends and clients that have the dual purpose of active networking. Which reminds me of the social media responsibility that is a very active part of our industry and daily routine.<\/em><\/p>\n

Thank God for my maid, my dogs and that my 22-year-old daughter lives on her own in Cabo and I have a much lighter load thanks to them.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n
