This iconic moment was what prompted the Mexican people to rise up against the Spanish colonial forces, and reclaim their status as a proud Independent Nation. <\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The governor of Puerto Vallarta will be on hand shout out a replica of Hidalgo&#8217;s cry, and the crowd will respond with &#8220;\u00a1Viva M\u00e9xico!&#8221; The traditional grito takes place before midnight in Puerto Vallarta\u2019s main plaza by the Malecon, and is followed by fireworks and a party that will have you dancing in the street! <\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The next day on September 16th, you can enjoy watching a civic parade with military and local school bands on hand to demonstrate their patriotism.
