  • Services such as maids, decorators, plumber and so on are much more affordable in Mexico.
  • Most luxury apartment complexes have 24-hour security.
  • You can enjoy luxury facilities such as gyms, pools, restaurants, spas etc, which are accessible by wheelchairs.
  • You will be joined by like minded neighbours in their later life and form a sense of community.
  • Less maintenance as you will share the costs amongst other homeowners in the building.
  • You don’t have to worry about security when you go on vacation or take longer periods to travel, which is a benefit of being retired and enjoying later life.
  • The most luxurious apartments will offer concierge services, so you will always be able to find a solution to your needs quickly, without having to bother your children.
  • No stairs. Many luxury apartments are on one level and have elevators, which is great for later life.

Cons:

  • Be prepared to pay regular maintenance fees.
  • Luxury apartments are rarely in walking distance of supermarkets as they are generally found in the most exclusive neighborhoods. Therefore you may require a car.
  • No personal garden (although some luxury apartments have community gardens and herb patches.
  • Parking for visitors. Check to see if there is free parking for your guests.
