Puerto Vallarta (PV) is a city that hardly needs introduction; it has come far from its beginnings as a tiny fishing village, and a film set for The Night of the Iguana. These days Puerto Vallarta is the glittering jewel in the crown of Banderas Bay, a perennial tourist hotspot, and all-round city of culture, art, and cuisine.
With that in mind it is hardly surprising that in 2005 Puerto Vallarta Lifestyles Publishing group began the now annual tradition of the Puerto Vallarta Restaurant Week following in the footsteps of the London and New York Restaurant Weeks! In a relatively short amount of time the popularity of this event has grown year on year since its advent. Locals, expat residents, snowbirds and tourists from all over the world wait anxiously for it to come around each year.
Restaurant Week in Puerto Vallarta is actually more like two weeks, and general falls sometime in May; this is one of the best times of the year to experience the city in all its glory! This year, 2017, the event will take place from the 15th to the 31st of May, and will showcase some of the best restaurants and eateries in the city!
During PV Restaurant Week, participating restaurants run a special three course menu for diners to enjoy, with three options for each course. Furthermore, there are two price tiers, depending on the level of restaurant, both of which offer upto 50% discounts on standard menu prices for the dishes served.
For restaurateurs, PV Restaurant Week is a great chance to encourage people to try out their restaurant and to show off the very best of what they have to offer. For consumers, it’s a chance to experience restaurants in Puerto Vallarta that they might not otherwise have tried, and a chance to do so at a reduced cost!
So you can see that while Puerto Vallarta has much going for it, Restaurant Week is one of the biggest draws to the city for foodies and gourmands year on year! The quaint, cobbled streets and famed Malecon are filled with culinary experiences and adventures just waiting for someone to take them on!
