Do you love fresh and tasty mangoes? One of the most beloved seasonal tropical fruits, mangoes are enjoyed by many as it is mango season in Puerto Vallarta right now.  If you love mangoes, make sure not to miss the second annual Puerto Vallarta’s Mango Festival that will be held at Lázaro Cárdenas Park on Saturday, July 7th from 4pm to 10pm. Located in the Romantic Zone or Zona Romantica, the park is just one block inland from the popular Los Muertos beach and Puerto Vallarta pier. History of Mangoes Mangos are originally from Asia, in specific India, where they have long been a staple in a typical diet. They are so popular that the Sanskrit word for mango, am, actually also means provisions. As traders and travelers came to experience the delicious mango fruit, they were cultivated in other parts of the Far East, specifically in warm climates.
